Sod is the fastest way to fix a struggling lawn, but only if the soil under it is right and the grass matches your yard. We install locally grown St. Augustine (Palmetto or Raleigh) and Zoysia (Empire or Zeon), sourced from Louisiana farms.
Every install starts with what happens under the sod: killing off the old lawn, grading for drainage, adding topsoil where the clay is worst, and rolling the finished surface. Then we lay tight seams and water it in before we leave.

Site assessment

The right grass for your part of the yard.
One species doesn't fit every yard here. Shade under live oaks calls for St. Augustine. Full-sun front lawns can handle finer Zoysia. We match the grass to the light, water, and traffic — the biggest reason installs fail in this climate.
- St. Augustine (Palmetto/Raleigh) — the workhorse for shade and mixed-light New Orleans yards.
- Zoysia (Empire/Zeon) — fine-textured, sun-loving, drought-tolerant once established.
- Grading planned around our tropical rain events — the yard has to drain, not pond.
- Best install windows are spring and early fall — heat and cold both stress fresh sod.
FAQ
Good questions to ask.
- How long until we can walk on it?
- Light foot traffic after two weeks; regular use after about four weeks once roots have knit in.
- How much do we have to water?
- A lot for the first two weeks — usually daily. We give you a written schedule and taper it down from there.
- St. Augustine or Zoysia — which is better?
- Depends on your light. Shady yards do best with St. Augustine; full-sun yards with heavy foot traffic often prefer Zoysia.
- Can you sod a partial area?
- Yes. We do full lawns and problem-area patches — bare spots under trees, dog paths, or reset strips along a new sidewalk.
